Q3 Stock Market Performance
The stock market averages all trended lower in the 3rd quarter following an unexpected robust rally in the first six months in which the major market indexes posted double-digit gains. Historically, September is the worst month of the year in the stock market. Since 2000, the S&P 500 Index has declined 1.5% on average in September. Not surprisingly, the S&P Index declined 4.8% last month which wiped away gains across the board that were posted in July
