5P targets middle-market stressed and distressed opportunities as they are far less efficient and highly relationship-oriented (not just what you know, but who you know). We are absolute return focused and look to generate returns that are uncorrelated to and less volatile than the broad equity market and can capitalize on dislocations in the credit market. Alpha is created by shorting stocks of troubled companies projected to devolve into distressed situations and through buying and restructuring the distressed debt of quality businesses facing critical financial challenges. 5P employs an active and control strategy to influence outcomes by actively engaging all stakeholders and leading the restructuring process.
