Mercia Capital was founded in 2013 by Ian Milton, with two complementary aims.
Firstly, to provide asset managers with advice on fund marketing, capital raising, investor relations and client servicing, as well as effecting introductions to qualified institutional investors, investment consultants, fund of funds, family offices and wealth managers, primarily in the UK.
Secondly, to act as an extension of the research capabilities of our investor and investment consultant network, by helping them discover hidden gems in the shape of talented asset managers running strongly differentiated or innovative alternative investment strategies;
frequently, the managers we introduce have not come across our investor community's radar screens before.
Since founding Mercia Capital in 2013 and becoming independently FCA-regulated in 2020, Ian has also served as an adviser to Arbour Partners, raising capital from UK investors for both first-time and later vintage funds, primarily in credit.
In a 30 year career in the European investment management, pensions and insurance industries, Ian has raised capital from, and provided client services to, institutional, wealth management and family office investors and their advisers.
Prior to founding Mercia, his wide-ranging experience encompassed public and private markets fixed income, equities and alternatives for the respective fund management businesses of Hill Samuel, Barings, Rothschild and Credit Agricole/Amundi.
